Mr CharlesWelcome to the Peele Community College website, I hope that it provides a taste of the range of opportunities and successes that students are able to access on a daily basis.

We are delighted with the many individual examination successes from the students in Year 11. The College has achieved very good overall results with 54% of students achieving 5 GCSE grades A* -C including English and Mathematics and 74% of students achieving 5 GCSE grades A*- C.

Students of all abilities have risen to the many examination and coursework challenges to gain considerable success. Students, parents, carers and staff at the College need to be congratulated for all of the dedication, teamwork and commitment that have gone into achieving these excellent results.

The Peele Community College is very proud to have supported Year 11 students to attain their individual achievements and wish them all every success in their future College, Training, Apprenticeship and employment placements. The Class of 2011 have been a very enthusiastic group of young people who will move on to even greater academic, professional and personal successes in the future.

In March 2011, we were delighted to have achieved national recognition for the outstanding progress in student achievement that has been made in recent years. GCSE results (5A*-C including English and mathematics) have improved from 27% in 2007 to 58% in 2010, enabling Peele to be in the top twenty most improved schools in the country.

The Peele Community College received awards for being one of the five most nationally improved Specialist Science Colleges; for being one of the five most improved schools in the East Midlands region and for adding value to its students’ achievements.
The awards are a reflection of the hard work put in by students at The Peele Community College, the professionalism and dedication of all the staff at Peele and the support they have received from parents and carers.

I am confident that 2011/12 will again see a very exciting year with many opportunities to celebrate the successes of Peele students and staff.

Many local People and Business supported and sponsored the college in its bid to gain Specialist Science Status in 2009.  As part of this effort a virtual brick wall was built to give everyone recognition for their efforts, generosity and support.
